[00:00:00] Welcome to Pilates Teachers' Manual, your guide to becoming a great Pilates teacher. I'm Olivia and I'll be your host. [00:00:56] Hello, hello everybody. Welcome back to the [00:01:00] podcast. This will be a season wrap up, so we'll do a little bit of fun news that I have to share, more ways to hang out with me and do cool stuff with the podcast. I've got the stats for this season. I can share what the podcast is looking like, as well as looking forward to what the next year of Pilates Teachers' Manual Podcast will hold.

[00:01:25] So this is a little short one, but I am still really excited because this was a really great season and just a really cool year overall. Really exciting news is next week, next Saturday, on December 10th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Central Time, I will be hosting a Creating an Inclusive Class for Prenatal Clients Workshop on Zoom.

[00:01:50] It will be a workshop that is eligible for three CCEs from the National Pilates Certification Program. So if you are in need of those [00:02:00] continuing education credits, you can get them at a workshop. And I'm actually really excited to be able to offer continuing education credits because it is something that teachers need to maintain their credential if you are a nationally certified Pilates teacher. So I'm really happy to throw my hat in the ring and be able to share a topic that's really relevant, really interesting. And, uh, hopefully demystify some of the ideas around pregnancy and exercise, go over guidelines. Like I'm a super nerd about this and I'm really looking forward to having a conversation and sharing what I know and answering some questions and going over repertoire, modifications, all that good stuff.

[00:02:42] If that sounds like a party, I'd love to have you there. There are still some spots available. It's $80 for the workshop. But if you're a member of Buy Me A Coffee, that thing that I'm always talking about on the podcast, kinda like Patreon, but it's [00:03:00] more delicious cuz there's caffeine involved, that is half off.

[00:03:04] So it's only $40 for those continuing education credits and you get those if you attend the Zoom. I do have a reformer, a chair, and a mat, so we'll be able to look at some of the repertoire on some of the equipment. I don't think I can fit a Cadillac in my house, but it's also a possibility down the line. There might be a Cadillac, um, but I think we can cover a lot of the repertoire, modifications, things like that. I have been working on this workshop in particular, all year. I delivered it for the first time in February. Some members of Buy Me A Coffee got to see that sort of beta version of this, and it's improved so, so much.

[00:03:42] I've got so many resources and so much awesome stuff to share. So please come hang out with me and let's talk all things prenatal Pilates and make that a non-scary subject and really something that you can feel confident working with when a pregnant person pops up in your class as [00:04:00] they are wont to.

[00:04:01] Also exciting. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping- I am on track, but I am also hoping, hoping, hoping- that I will be done with the Pilates Teachers' Manual book by the end of this month. I'm not sure if it'll be released just yet, but I am working very hard on that and really taking all of this podcast content and making it a little bit tidier, a little bit more to the point, and I hope to be releasing that as an ebook, if not by the very end of this year, but by the very beginning of next year.

[00:04:34] There will be some awesome perks again, if you're a member of that, Buy Me A Coffee page. You can, uh, look forward to some sweet treats related to the book as well. Those are the two really big things. Uh, the workshop that is coming up next week, and then the book that will be done by the end of this year. And, uh, I'm really looking forward to sharing these projects [00:05:00] in a more finished capacity, so really excited to be able to share that with you and really hope that you find it useful as you go about your life teaching the lovely Pilates as you do.

[00:05:13] Let's talk stats. I love stats. Stats are some of my favorite things, and I try really hard not to pay too much attention to the stats during the season, but then at the end, kind of do a retrospective. So let's see what's happening in the land of Pilates Teachers' Manual.

[00:05:28] The running total of podcast listens of all episodes, all six seasons is just over 95,000 listens at the time of recording. It is obviously changing all the time, but that's the neighborhood we're in. We're gonna break 100k and I'm so excited. For just season six, that is responsible for 19,000 of those listens, so that is so cool. The top episode this season was group class programming [00:06:00] strategies with 1,573 listens at the time of recording.

[00:06:05] Top countries who listen on the regular are the US, Australia, and the UK. The top cities where people are tuning in are Sydney, Melbourne, and London. London is new to the list, so very excited to have that British connection as well. The top app that people use to listen remains standing as Apple Podcasts, and the top listening device is an iPhone.

[00:06:30] Um, but even more than that, 94% of people are listening on a mobile device, which is so cool that I get to come with you where you are on the go. I do love to look at who, like the, the top listening things, but I also wanna shout out to the one person who listened to an episode on their iPod. Like that is so cool. I don't think that my iPod will sync anymore. Uh, so it's absolutely fantastic that you have your iPod and you're listening. So I see you too.

[00:06:59] [00:07:00] I have about 300 subscribers on YouTube, which is another way to listen to the podcast. It doesn't have a cool video with it. I mean, it has like a video, but it's not like me or anything. So that's kind of exciting that I've broken 300 subscribers on YouTube. And next February is Pilates Teachers' Manual turns three, so we will have to celebrate the toddlerdom of the podcast. That's very exciting as well.

[00:07:24] And I just wanna take the opportunity to say thank you to you for listening, for tuning in, for reaching out on Instagram or on email, or becoming a supporter of that Buy Me A Coffee page. I absolutely love recording these podcasts. I love connecting with super cool teachers who are both guests on the podcast and just amazing teachers all across the country, all across the world. I'm constantly astounded by the reach that this project has, and I really hope to continue to make content and create [00:08:00] episodes, books, workshops that support you where you are in your teaching journey. And just to share with you what I'm learning as I continue to learn and grow in my own teaching journey. This year has been an absolute blast and I can't wait to see what 2023 holds.

[00:08:17] Next year there will be more promotional stuff coming out around the book. I hope to be offering more workshops, um, about prenatal clients because that's something I'm really passionate about, but also about programming and about maybe doing one on one sessions or leading a great group class. So there will be more continuing education opportunities to come in 2023. There will definitely be more special guests on the podcast sharing the cool things that they're doing in the Pilates industry. It's one of the highlights of my day, week, month, to chat with these super cool teachers, and I look forward to continuing to do that.

[00:08:55] And I'm also looking at offering some in person group classes that are equipment [00:09:00] based classes. So if you are local to Chicago, definitely stay tuned because there will be opportunities to hang out with me in person and take class as well. But for now, happy holidays. Happy New Year. I hope to see you at the workshop next week, and if not, I'll be back here with more podcast goodness in 2023.
